Pro Sports Jersey's Hot Christmas Jersey Picks

A guide to which NFL jerseys might be the most popular gifts this holiday season.

Nov. 15, 2008 - PRLog -- It's no secret that online shopping is now the best way to buy gifts for your favorite sports fan.  What's better than shopping on your own time, not the store's?  But what NFL jersey do you buy that football fan on your list?  ProSportsJersey.com (http://www.prosportsjersey.com) has the answer with our list of what we believe might be some of the hottest official NFL jerseys this holiday season.

With the NFL schedule now heading into the second half, we know which players and teams are making waves and as time winds down, which teams could become the New York Giants of 2008-09 and become white hot Super Bowl contenders.

We're offering the top five picks for potential holiday hits in four categories:   quarterbacks, running backs, receivers and defensive players.

Patriots fans haven't forgotten Tom Brady, but Matt Cassel's play has elevated his status and if New England continues it's run, expect a run on Cassel jerseys too.  Brett Favre has the Jets in the playoff chase.  Favre jerseys have been huge sellers in Green Bay for the past 16 years but now Favre will be big under the tree in New York too.  Don't forget Tony Romo.  If he can resurrect the Cowboys season, the always-popular Romo jersey will fly out of the Pro Sports Jersey shop.  Two of this year's surprise hits are rookie Matt Ryan, who has the Atlanta Falcons in playoff position, and on the other end of the spectrum, veteran Kurt Warner.  Ryan jerseys have been hot all season in Atlanta--and elsewhere.   Warner has improved his Hall of Fame chances by elevating the Arizona Cardinals into a force in the NFC.

Brandon Jacobs helped power the Giants to a Super Bowl victory.  Now, he's gaining more respect as the G-men continue to roll toward another deep playoff run.  He's at the top of our hot running backs list.  Clinton Portis has been steady and if the Redskins can push forward, he'll be the toast of Washington DC.  Michael Turner's running is another reason why the Falcons are in the hunt.  He's been a big hit as a starter after leaving the shadown of LT in San Diego.  Talk about a rennaissance...how about Thomas Jones.  Favre has been good, but Jones' running has Jets fans snapping up his jersey too.  And don't forget 2007's top talent, Adrian Peterson.  The Vikings star will always be popular as long as he's among the league leaders in rushing and if Minnesota can make a run in the NFC Central, Peterson will be a popular holiday choice again.

Warner's impressive season has reflected upon his two young star receivers who are suddenly on the NFL's hot list.  Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin jerseys are spotted all over the desert and the Cardinals are starting to gain a national following as well because of their dynamic offense and Warner's feel-good story.  The popularity of the Patriots hasn't plummeted with Brady out and receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker are helping Cassel succeed.  We'll put the two together among our top 5 receiver jersey choices.  Atlanta's Ryan has a favorite target and Roddy White jerseys are popping up in the stands at the Georgia Dome.  We think that will continue.  We also think Favre's promising target, Jericho Cotchery has nowhere to go but up and any receiver catching passes from Favre usually winds up having jerseys that become fan favorites (see Driver, Donald).

On defense, you'd be hard pressed to find a Giants fan that wouldn't want a Justin Tuck jersey tucked into their pants on Christmas morning.  Joey Porter is back and Dolphins fans love the team's defensive leader.  His Steelers jersey was always a big seller but Dolphins fans are gravitating to him now, too.  John Abraham is #2 in the league in sacks and he's also going up the list with a bullet.  Same goes for the Tennessee Titans' Albert Haynesworth.  You don't have to look far to find a Haynesworth jersey in Nashville.  DeMarcus Ware jerseys are always a big seller in Dallas and if the Cowboys get back in the chase, you can bet he'll be a favorite to gift wrap.

A couple of honorable mentions:  How about Herb Adderly for an NFL throwback jersey?   The former Packer and Cowboy won a big victory for retired players over the NFL Players Association and he's a hero among fans who love what an Adderly jersey symbolizes.
