Nov. 10, 2008 - PRLog -- Envirowise (http://www.envirowise.gov.uk/) are encouraging businesses to take a more responsible approach to making hot drinks and suggesting the following strategies:

“Appoint a tea task force or tea monitor to make sure all your hot drink-making facilities are as efficient as they could be. Only boil the water you are going to use – this will avoid water and energy being wasted, and won’t leave you standing at the kettle waiting for it to boil unnecessarily.”

Government advice is timely and wise: there is no better time that to put energy conservation at the top of business agendas. This is something that Mars Drinks has been focussing on for some time. We think that the best way of brewing hot drinks whilst saving energy is to ensure the equipment is efficient. Therefore we have invested time and money into producing innovative drink vending machines that will save energy as well as produce great tasting hot drinks. And recent independent tests clearly demonstrate that our investments have made a difference.

The KLIX Outlook (http://www.klix.com/klix/en-GB/Productsandsolutions/Vendi...) proved to be 12.5% more energy efficient for hot drinks than the average two leading floor-standing drinks vending machines tested. And when in “standby” mode (idle phase) the KLIX Outlook was 51% more energy efficient.*

And by being wise with energy use you can also save money, something all businesses are thinking about in the current economic climate. Therefore re-evaluating the every day appliances that you use to make hot drinks can benefit both the environment and the company balance sheet.

To find out what else we are doing to help you reduce your business energy use go to “Thirsty for change” (http://www.marsdrinks.com/mars-drinks/en/Sustainability/Y...) at Mars Drinks.
