Mastery Martial Art’s 3oth Black Belt Spectacular Free Open to Public!

Free Event Set for Sun., Dec. 21 at Twin River Events Center, Lincoln, RI

Nov. 3, 2008 - PRLog -- CENTREDALE, R.I. , – A live sword-cutting demonstration, the magnificence of Phillipino kali stick fighting and the fledgling expertise of six-year-old Little Dragons will be some of the showstoppers at Mastery Martial Art’s 3Oth  Black Belt Spectacular.  

The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the plush surroundings of the Twin River Event Center, Lincoln, R.I.  The event is free and open to the public.  The private entrance and event venue itself are smoke-free and open to children.  

Seating will be general admission, arranged on one level, and  the venue is accessible to people with disabilities.

The martial arts show is expected to span 90 minutes and will include short exhibitions by Mastery Martial Arts students, including new apprentice and full black belts, all whom will receive their new ranks at the event.

Also joining the show will be renowned martial arts experts, Sifu Neil Cauliffe and Sensei David Lindsey.

Sifu Neil is one of only a handful of instructors in the world awarded Full Instructorship Certification in Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do under Dan Inosanto, the man personally picked by Bruce Lee to continue the lineage of his art.  Sifu Neil, who has developed h is expertise over 38 years and is an expert in seven different martial arts, will present an exhibition, as yet unannounced.  He operates American Dragon Martial Arts in Coral Springs, Fla., with his wife, Sifu Helana Cauliffe, a third-degree black belt.  

Sensei David Lindsey, the owner of Ninja World martial arts  store in Warwick, R.I., will present a live sword demonstration.  He has been training in martial arts since 1980 and  holds eight black belts of various ranks in eight martial arts disciplines.  Sensei Lindsey has studied under Dr. Robert McKittrick at Brown University in Rhode Island, who is considered to be the foremost Isshin-Ryu expert in the U.S. Sensei Lindsey received his Black Belt in 1989 in Isshin-Ryu.

   “The Twin River Event Center offers the perfect backdrop from which our students and special guests can showcase their expertise,” said Mr. Greg Horton, Mastery Martial Arts’ founder and president.  “We are excited to be able to present such a wealth of talent to the public who may be interested in martial arts, but may have never had the opportunity to see its various forms in action.  I welcome people of all ages to come to our family friendly event.”

   In addition to martial arts demonstrations, the Spectacular will include video testimonials, skits, and other special surprises.  Concessions will be available at the event for a fee.  

   As an added bonus, every 50tth person entertaining the event center prior to showtime will be given a spin at Mastery Martial Arts’ special prize wheel, so come early!  

   Tickets will be available to students only for pick up at any of the four Mastery Martial Arts academies in Centredale, Cranston, Smithfield and Warwick.  Friends and family of students and the general public must request their tickets online at www.masteryspectacular.com  Tickets will be sent electronically.  No one will be admitted without a ticket.

   Although admission will be free, attendees are encouraged to donate to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation.  Mastery Martial Arts’ instructors recently broke over 3,000 boards and presented a special “pink” demo at the Gemma Foundation’s special “Flames of Hope” WaterFire this October 11 in downtown Providence.  The event raised over $15,000, which is being matched 100% by Tim Hortons.
