Nov. 1, 2008 - PRLog -- Chicago, IL,  -- "William Elliott Hazelgrove has written one of the best novels that I have ever read." So ends Charles Ashbacher's five star review five (Top 50 Amazon Reviewer) "William Elliott Hazelgrove's ROCKET MAN is a brilliant piece of writing, a work that meticulously dissects contemporary life in America with such a keen eye that the author is able to catch at least passing glances at us all." And so begins Grady Harps four star review (Top Ten Amazon Reviewer) http://www.amazon.com/review/product/0615213073/re...

The cyberworld is rapidly moving into the forefront of American book reviewing and nowhere is the competition fiercer than on Amazon. com where reviewers compete for ranking. Glowing reviews by top ranked reviewers can put a book on the map. That is not to mention the thousands of book bloggers who review books and send readers scurrying for the titles reviewed.

William Elliott Hazelgrove's Rocket Man has been making the rounds on sites such as Library Thing where one reviewer wrote, "Rocket Man is a satire about the search for the American Dream and all the devastating and sometimes hilarious consequences that accompany it..." Another reviewer for the book online site, Front Street Reviews said, "Hazelgrove's humor is subtly infused throughout the book and is unbelievably witty." But the coveted online reviews are the ranked Amazon reviewers. These reviewer have followers that go into the thousands and buy books on the reviewers reccomendation.

Amanda Richards, another top 50 reviewer for Amazon, gave Rocket Man four stars and writes, "This is a well written book with solid character development...a shrewd loook at the other side of suburban living by a talented author." Obviously, the traditional review publications, Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, and American Library Association are still very important.

But books like Rocket Man, brought out by smaller presses, get a tremendous boost before the book is even published, sending book sales skyrocketing and giving otherwise unknown authors a chance to reach their public. Rocket Man is due to be released in December at regular bookstores, but the buzz has already begun in the cyberworld. John Weaver of the popular literary site, pageonelit.com has made Rocket Man one of his picks for October and conducted an online interview and review, writing, "Rocket Man by William Hazelgrove is the finest and most compelling novel of the year. Character, setting, fresh dialogue and a solid plot are all loaded and ready for blast off." Well, we'll see. Certainly, Rocket Man is beginning to climb.
