The Master Teddy Builder is Out of Hibernation!

Oct. 31, 2008 - PRLog -- Have you ever wanted to make your own one of a kind, collectible artist teddy bear and didn't  know where to start?  Think making your own bear is too complicated or that you have to have great sewing skills?  Guess what?  You really can build your very own five jointed mohair teddy bear (just like the classic collectible teddy bears that sell for hundreds of dollars!) in this 2 day, hands-on class taught by world renowned teddy artist and educator, Laura Garrison.  

In the workshop, participants will learn proper fabric selection, pattern placement, mohair cutting and shaving techniques, hand jointing, hand stitching tips and tricks, and how to properly set glass eyes.  The class is hands-on, very relaxed, and is open to participants ages 12 and up.  Students will be creating a 12 inch bear.

The fee for the class is $159.00 which includes the material fee of $30.00.  Students who have taking the Teddy Bear Building 101 class with Laura can return anytime in the future for just the materials fee.  Students are asked to bring a good pair of fabric shears with them to class; all other tools, supplies, and findings will be provided in class.

No prior handstitching experience is required and the class will not be using sewing machines.
