People are Going to Extraordinary Lengths to Deliver Multifunctional Devices

Occasionally a situation arises when delivering multifunctional devices that requires a much more detailed plan of action than is usually necessary to make sure that the device is delivered safely to its correct position.

Oct. 27, 2008 - PRLog -- Delivering a multifunctional device can be difficult considering their size, weight and the number of delicate parts they contain. The machine needs to be loaded into the delivery van, transported, unloaded and then delivered to the end destination, which means that there are several different considerations that need to be made so that it is delivered without any damage being done. These obstacles include the road and weather conditions, the layout of the destination building and making sure that the multifunctional device is packed and handled carefully. Most of these obstacles can be overcome with enough preparation and by using appropriate equipment. Many companies carry out a site plan on any difficult sites and use equipment such as stair crawlers to make the delivery easier and more efficient.

No matter how much preparation has gone into the delivery of a device and what equipment is used, sometimes obstacles can occur that require a lot more planning and hard work than expected. This was the case when the company Falcon were delivering a multifunctional device and found that the gangway into the building was just a few inches too small to fit the device. This meant that, short of dismantling the photocopier, it seemed that it would be almost impossible to get the device into the building and to its correct destination. Falcon knew they had to solve the problem one way or another and decided that the only way to do so was to get the photocopier into the building, not by the ground floor entrance, but to pass it through a window from the outside of the building. This tricky manoeuvre involved the help of a crane and some careful planning. The device was airlifted by crane to the correct height and very carefully passed into the building. This story just goes to show how dedicated some companies can be in ensuring the safe delivery of these machines to their correct place. Luckily someone took a photograph of this spectacle, from which it can clearly be seen what a difficult delivery and unusual sight it was. It is certain that there would have been a few surprised looks on the faces of anyone passing by as they looked up and saw a photocopier dangling over their heads, not something that is seen very often.

Photocopiers and multifunctional devices are very delicate pieces of machinery and so damage can easily be done if great care is not taken in transportation and delivery. The photocopier being delivered by crane shows just how far some companies will go to get these machines delivered and the lengths businesses will go to to make sure that their chosen multifunctional device is delivered and installed.
