Oct. 21, 2008 - PRLog -- When you hear the word fast-food, several popular names would suddenly pop up in your head. Such names would be McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy’s, and PizzaHut. But among the Filipinos, there could only be one kind of fast-food restaurant that would pop up. That is Jollibee.

Among the many popular fast-food restaurants in the Philippines such as these names I mentioned above, Jollibee is still the most preferable fast-food restaurant for a lot of Filipinos, especially among the younger generation. This is because of its unique blend of services and Filipino/foreign cuisine that every Filipino loves.

Jollibee is a fast-food restaurant chain based in the Philippines. It is an American-style fast-food restaurant with Filipino-influenced dishes specializing in burgers, spaghetti, chicken and some local Filipino dishes.

Currently the biggest fast-food chain in the country, Jollibee has made a lot of expansions throughout the world and acquisitions of other popular fast-food restaurants in the Philippines. Jollibee has currently expanded its reaches from other countries such as United States, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Dubai and Brunei.

As of this year 2008, Jollibee Food Corporation now holds the title as the biggest fast-food chains in the world with 1,655 stores worldwide. Some of its more popular acquisition is namely Chowking which has 377 branches, Greenwich Pizza which has 236 branches, Red Ribbon Bakeshop which has 194 branches, Délifrance which has 28 branches and Mang Pepe which has 4 branches across the country. According to the Jollibee web site, it has 23 stores overseas.

Not only did Jollibee expanded on fast-food restaurants, they also did on TV shows. On March 26, 2008, a children's television program called "Jollitown" was launched by Jollibee. The timing was chosen to highlight Jollibee’s 30th anniversary. Jollibee's main mascot (also called Jollibee) and its backup mascots Yum, Hetty, Popo and Twirlie are the stars of the show, which airs Sundays, 9:30 to 10 a.m., on GMA Network.
