La Sportiva Backs the Triple Crown Bouldering Series

La Sportiva, the Italian mountain footwear brand, is stepping up to support the climbing community all over the region. La Sportiva is supporting the Triple Crown Bouldering Series as a sponsor and with a big presence at each of the three events.

Oct. 20, 2008 - PRLog -- With Fall Climbing season underway in the Southeast, La Sportiva, the Italian mountain footwear brand, is stepping up to support the climbing community all over the region. La Sportiva is supporting the Triple Crown Bouldering Series as a sponsor and with a big presence at each of the three events. This competitive climbing series offers a unique blend of fun, community, and some of the best bouldering in the country.

“The Triple Crown Bouldering Series is an amazing trio of events that brings the climbing community together like no other climbing competition in the region,” said Mark Day, Sales Director for La Sportiva. “The best aspect about the series is the variety. It doesn’t matter if you are an elite, professional climber or if you’ve only been bouldering for a few months, you will have fun at any of these three events.”

At the Hound Ears Bouldering Competition on October 4, La Sportiva’s own Mark Day and Norman Pitt were present and keeping the competitors well-fed. The pair spent over eight hours cooking ribs and fed over 250 people in the hungry crowd of boulderers.

The competition was a raging success on all accounts. The competitors were treated with perfect, crisp, fall climbing weather, and the Triple Crown organization raised over $6,000 for the Carolina Climbers Coalition. This money has been earmarked to help preserve Laurel Knob, the tallest continuous rock face on the east coast, located near Cashiers, NC.

The next event in the Triple Crown Bouldering Series is in November with the eHorse Pens 40 Competition near Steele, Ala. In December, the finale takes place at The Stone Fort near Chattanooga, Tenn. La Sportiva will be at both events with athletes and a full fleet of demo climbing shoes, including the award winning La Sportiva Miura VS and La Sportiva Solution.

The primary goal of the Triple Crown Bouldering Series is to raise funds for the Southeastern Climbers' Coalition and The Carolina Climbers' Coalition. These two organizations have been instrumental in the acquisition of land for the climbing community.
