By: Howard Community Healthcare Foundation The new hospital will also be used as a magnet for additional talented medical professionals and business to reinvigorate the local economy. The wide ranging impacts include potential jobs at the hospital to the ancillary businesses that will be necessary, and, possibly, most important are more talented minds being drawn into the community. The hospital will facilitate this growth, in part, because of planned relationships with both UC Davis Medical Center as well as the Santa Rosa Family Practice Residency Program to have Orthopaedic and Family Practice Residents rotate through Howard Memorial Hospital. Ian Caliendo of Pacific Gas and Electric Company worked closely with the Foundation to secure these funds. PG & E takes great pride in the their community partnerships and have expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to acknowledge and support citizens and organizations committed to making Mendocino County a better place to live and work. This grant represents the Foundation’s focus of collaborating with organizations to secure the necessary funding for the new hospital. “Our local community has shown tremendous support for our project,” says Fund Development Coordinator Ian Fitzpatrick. “Combined with our local efforts we are proud to partner with organizations such as PG&E in order to realize our goal of creating a world-class medical facility.” End
