Oct. 11, 2008 - PRLog -- How would you describe your work/art/style?

My work is unhindered by convention and some would say, provocative! It spans a great number of creative mediums. Designing and creating is a passion that was born with, the only credit I can take, is how I cultivate and chose to apply it.

I love creating, unique art jewelry, that is one of a kind handmade, fine jewelry, out of 22 karat, yellow gold and precious gems. I rarely use white gold, because gold itself is the vibrant ‘sun’ of metallurgy, while silver is the moon, and respectively, they are represented by the hues of yellow and white.

Many of the themes embodied in my designs are inspired by natural shapes and forms. Nature is the most prolific artist whose brush strokes paint the world with innumerable variations of harmonic beauty. I am also inspired by the legacy of mythology: by the ancient races, barely visible in the mist of time, and the faint impressions, of there rituals and beliefs. I am inspired by the mysteries of time, creation and simply by the remarkable nature of this wondrous universe in which we live.

To a fault, I can not help but see, the beauty in each and every person that I meet. It brings me great pleasure to enhance this beauty, and bring treasure into peoples lives. Adornment is a form of worship, of worshiping pure beauty and love.

My creative expression is not limited to gold jewelry. I also make Art d’Objet and have been known to spend several years just to make one piece. I take after the tradition of renaissance artist and the masters of old, whose talents not only reached across many artistic disciplines, but also across many fields of endeavor.

Over the years I have trained a number of apprentices and since developed a multi-media presentation called “Life Design”. It goes behind the obvious to visit the unseen matrix that underlies my designs and can also be found in the works of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Albrecht Durer. Going back even further in time this formula is present in the monumental works of the ancient Egyptians, the ancient Greek and Mayan cultures.

“Life Design” also reveals a phenomena I have come to call the “Language of Form”. A very simple example is illustrated by the circle and square. The inherent nature of the ‘irrational’ circle, is that of movement, as is evidenced by its use as a wheel. In contrast, the nature of the highly rational square or quadrangle, is that of stability, as is evidenced by the shape of building blocks.

The “Language of Form” like color and music, directly influences our feelings and emotions. It is naturally present in the proportions of the human body, in a flowering plant and also in the geo-cosmic relationship of planetary bodies.

Being a primarily unseen formula the “Language of Form” can be applied to any and every form of creativity — from engineering to free form sculpture. I personally have —

• applied it to — a number of architectural developments and projects

• used it to — design and paint the sacred symbolism of a Hindu Temple.

• used it in — the design of corporate logos, branding packages and in a more abstract manner, even in business development and consultancy.

• It is present — in my paintings (oil on canvas and also  mixed media).

AND

also in the composition of my photography!

One of my most favored means of expression is writing. I write on topics as varied as philosophy, sacred tradition, sacred geometry along with children's stories and poetry.
I don’t paint as much as I used to. Some years ago a tragic fire broke out in my studio and left the ashes of few hundred paintings in its wake. So my painting is intermittent at present. I do however work with mixed media and continue to develop fine art in a style that I would personally ‘symbolic surrealism’ with a hidden dimension.

How do you like artition and what would you like to be added or changed?
I think Artition is fantastic concept. It is like a global gallery that is unrestrained by commercialism. What I mean is that most galleries showcase known artist and personalities while at Artition a much greater number of artist are able to display there work.

I enjoy being able to visit and stroll through its pages. I love the raw diversified creativity that I come across and am inspired by those special pieces that I throughly admire. It is still but a babe but has a bright future ahead of it. One that I am happy to support and be a part of.

Who would you like to change life with for one day?
I just enjoy being who I am.

Who is your favourite artist?
My favorite artists are Salvador Dali, Albrecht Durer and Alex Grey.

Is there any artwork or artist on artition you would like to feature?
I the short time I have been a part of the artition community I haven’t gotten to see every bodies work but I love the works of Momoko, especially what she does with her carved line’s collection.

Besides visiting my gallery at Artition you are also welcome to visit my website at — http://www.zoeinjewels.com/
