EverFast Solar Hybrid charger Charges your AA, cell phones and GPS

Sept. 24, 2008 - PRLog -- Now, here's another way to do your part for the environment and save on your electricity bills at the same time. Instead of plugging into the mains to recharge your batteries, try the new EverFast hybrid Solar Charger, the company's first battery charger using solar energy.

Outdoor oriented design
It comes with a handy solar panel laminated in UV stabilized and weather-resistant polymers. This supposedly helps make the charger more durable while minimizing its weight. The charger unit’s back offers a stand to dispose your charger in the best angles a catch the best of the sun available. A hook also helps to hang the charger to your backpack, car, bike. General Manager, Charles D'HAUSSY, explains that usability has been a leitmotiv in the conception of this charger designed for outdoors activities and on the go charges.

Dual charge for more efficiency and easier use.
The charger innovates on a busy market by allowing charge from both USB or through sun. This flexibility is a plus.  According to EverFast, it takes almost six hours to recharge two AA batteries (or 2 hours for AAA cells) on USB charge and 10 hours under direct sunlight, which is slightly longer than what is usually expected of regular AC battery chargers. The advantage, however, is that the Solar Charger can be used outdoors where there is no access to the mains. Of course, with solar power being a free renewable source of energy, the Solar Charger also makes more economic and eco-friendly sense, too explains EverFast’s general manager Charles D’HAUSSY.

Universal connectors

The solar charger is delivered with a set of 6 mobile phone plugs adaptors. This covers the main brands of cell phones along MP3 players and GPS. You said mobility right ?

The EverFast Hybrid  Solar Charger was first launched in Hong Kong in mid-July, followed by Europe and US. There is no word on when it will be available in other parts of Asia at press time. It will retail at US$29.99 with 6 mobile connectors and two AA-sized rechargeable batteries which have been pre-charged for use immediately after purchase.
