Marie Bowers Kindheart Foundation Awards Scholarship

Sept. 23, 2008 - PRLog -- The Marie Bowers Kindheart Foundation has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Mary Anderson, student at Howard Community College.

The foundation was founded in name of Marie Bowers, who was an administrator in the Continuing Education Division of the College for almost 20 years.  She passed away on September 21, 2007.

Those at the college who knew her remember her as someone who had a kind heart and who was never to busy to help another person with a problem.  Her family intends the foundation to continue to foster her helping nature and to assure that she will not be forgotten at the college.

The foundation will award scholarships to students based on an essay about leading a kindhearted life and a recommendation from a teacher.

In addition, the foundation will give make available some funds to truly needy students in the Continuing Education Division to purchase books.
