PRLog -- Fred Broughton is a marketing specialist for the South Carolina Department of Agriculture, a local government office whose mission is to promote and nurture the growth and development of South Carolina's agriculture industry and its related businesses while assuring the safety and security of the buying public. Fred joined the SCDA in 2003 and is depended on to coordinate support for seventy community-based farmers' markets. His business background includes over thirty years of experience in both the governmental sector and as an entrepreneur. Fred's first job after college was on the family farm. He then moved into a teaching position and later joined USDA with a charge to enhance the quality of life for farmers and to reverse the trend of migration. As an entrepreneur, Fred founded and managed several companies including a multi-store dry cleaning company, a healthcare uniform retailer and an industrial maintenance firm. Fred is also a motivational speaker who inspires people to expect the best and take responsibility for their behavior. He graduated from South Carolina State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture education and achieved the highest educational level in Toastmasters International as a distinguished toastmaster. In 2000, Tuskegee University inducted Fred into the George Washington Carver Public Service Hall of Fame. When Fred is not at the S.C. Department of Agriculture offices, he enjoys reading, spending time with family and travel.
