Hugh Dignon Narrates the Beauty and Mysteries of Love in the Xlibris Release, The Pity of It

Ideal love is not just about looking through rose-colored glasses. It transcends more than just the overwhelming highs as well as its painstaking woes. Hugh Dignon shares a story of love, in its truest sense.

Sept. 18, 2008 - PRLog -- The self-published novel, The Pity of It, narrates the journey of lovers Danny and Rosa – from their first encounter at the bar, to the courtship, their chemistry and passionate physicality. They take their relationship to the next level by getting married, but their attempts to building a happy family are now being put to the test by dissensions and stress. These problems would eventually take a toll on their marriage, dissipating the trust and respect that Danny and Rosa have for each other.

In this book, one would wonder why some relationships do not work out even if two people truly love each other. It gives one introspection and reflection on relationships and provides deeper realization as well.

This Xlibris release also presents how ”ideal love” is entirely different from ”romantic idealism”. Danny and Rosa’s story shows that romance is not always a guarantee to lasting passion.

Whether you are a hopeless romantic or a relationship pragmatic, The Pity of It is a book worth reading.

About the Author
Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Hugh Alexander Dignon’s inspiration to write The Pity of It was his personal experience. Hugh and his four siblings lacked that two-parent nurturing. He lost his mother at an early age, which left him in the care of his father who otherwise showed a lack of interest in raising children, cooking and other womanly activities, brought about by his traditional Scottish upbringing.

Later, Hugh entered the University of Glasgow with a degree in English Literature majoring in fiction studies, with deep emphasis on man-woman relationships. When Hugh moved to the United States to pursue his doctorate at the New York University, he cited so many striking contrasts in inter-sexual expectations.

Hugh has always been fascinated with human relations, especially when examining them cross-culturally. A well-traveled person, Hugh has been to Borneo, Mongolia, Tierra del Fuego, trans-Sahara, trans-Siberian railway and so on. With his insatiable pursuits and deep knowledge on the subject, Hugh has taught at CUNY Queens College, in Scotland, the United States, France and China. He has also intensively explored China and other countries throughout Southeast Asia.
