Sept. 18, 2008 - PRLog -- "The recent trend has been for film makers to translate computer games, books and comics to the big screen. With the success of Sin City and The 300, graphic novels are hot property right now. The characters are larger than life and the unique drawing techniques and frame-by-frame scenes make them perfect for creating stylish movies," says John T.

Viewers are treated to alternative versions of our own world, which give these movies an eery quality. What if there really were villians covertly planning to dominate the world and heroes were secretly bearing on the burden to keep us safe?

Based on the cult favorite graphic novel by Alan Moore, it remains the only graphic novel to win a Hugo Award and make the Time's 100 best English-language novels list.

"A movie should be entertaining, first and foremost," Turner explains. "It should also contain under-the-surface themes, sybolism, questions of moral and characters with depth. I believe the Watchmen movie ticks all these boxes. The alternate 1985 where the US is on the brink of nuclear war with the Soviet Union gives the screenplay writers a lot to work with. Throw in some cutting edge effects and you certainly have my attention."

It is no wonder that people are drooling over the trailer, but it does have a lot to live up to in this burgeoning genre. Hardcore fans can also be the harshest critics.

The Watchmen movie is due for cinema release in March 2009. Fingers-crossed for a box office hit.
