Shaw Hospitality Group introduces modular commercial carpet tiles with Contradictions collection

Sept. 17, 2008 - PRLog -- Shaw Hospitality Group’s new carpet tile collection, Contradictions, is the first 100-percent recyclable, cradle-to-cradle certified carpet flooring option in the hospitality industry. Manufactured with Shaw Industries’ Eco Solution Q® nylon and EcoWorx® tile backing, Contradictions is fully recyclable in a closed-loop, cradle-to-cradle process that turns fiber into fiber and backing into backing.
   Eco Solution Q and EcoWorx backing are the only carpet products to receive Cradle to Cradle Silver Certification from MBDC (McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry), a third-party consultancy founded by world-renowned architect William McDonough and innovative chemist Dr. Michael Braungart. Contradictions’ fiber and backing contribute to the U.S. Green building Council LEED® Green Building Rating System.

   EcoWorx tile and Eco Solution Q are among the first products in the world with fully operating systems to collect and return materials to the manufacturing process after use, which keeps carpet from landfills. The Shaw EcoWorx recovery system in Cartersville, Ga., and Evergreen nylon recycling facility in Augusta, Ga., process these materials in continuous loops, reducing the energy and raw materials needed to manufacture new product.
   Contradictions is available in 10 running line options and offers design flexibility that enhances any space, from public space entrances, conference and executive rooms to corridors and suites. This collection offers coordinating patterns, vivid colors and understated elegance for sophisticated visual appeal.
Contradictions was designed in collaboration with XLG, a product design studio in Dallas, Texas.
