Presented by industry giants AUTODESK and in collaboration with DELL and ATI, //ADAPT will take place in the historic Pepsi Forum and AMC Theaters in Montreal from September 22nd  to September 26th , 2008. An estimated 5000 people from around the world are expected at the industry's highly anticipated 3rd annual creative event, focused on inspiring and teaching advanced digital art production techniques for film, visual effects and videogame development. The program includes over 40 digital art masters, an //Art Expo presented by COREL where attendees and general public can enjoy some of the world’s most spectacular digital art created by masters who have worked on the latest films and games of our time. A //Theater  presented by STASH showcasing the industry’s best in animation, VFX, motion graphics with innovative commercials, broadcast design, game cinematics, short films and more. A //Networking event bringing together celebrated local and international studios with prospective hires in an ultra-hip atmosphere, designed to encourage and enhance their recruitment efforts while offering some of the most sought after jobs in the industry.

Starting Monday, September 22th, 2008 attendees will be able to kick-off the //ADAPT 2008 Conference with the Keynote address by Walt Disney’s Andreas Deja. Working with Eric Larson, one of Disney’s legendary “nine old men,” Deja completed several tests and went on to do early character design, costume research and animation for The Black Cauldron. His next assignment was The Great Mouse Detective, for which he animated the mouse queen and her robotic twin. Deja helped design many of the characters for Oliver & Company and did some animation before spending a year in London as a lead animator on Who Framed Roger Rabbit, under director Richard Williams. Some of his outstanding film credits include Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Academy Award-winning animated musical Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin,  The Lion King, which has become The Walt Disney Studios’ most successful film, as well as one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

//ADAPT’s  2D/3D Programs debut Tuesday, September 23rd and goes until to Friday, September 26th . These master classes will feature a variety of local and internationally acclaimed digital artists specialized in many fields related to 2D and 3D feature film and videogame production. Presenters include Award-winning studio’s Walt Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks Animation SKG, George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic, The Mill, Digital Domain, The Jim Henson Company, Framestore, McFarlane Toys and world renowned artists Syd Mead (Blade Runner, TRON, Aliens, Star Trek: The Motion Picture), Craig Mullins (The Matrix Revolutions, Armageddon, Forrest Gump), Aaron Sims (The Incredible Hulk, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, I Am Legend, Batman Forever), Alex McDowell (Watchmen, The Terminal, Fight Club, The Crow) and many more!
