Orlando Piano Concert: Pianist Daniel Pollack opens the 4th Annual International Piano Series at UCF

Sept. 8, 2008 - PRLog -- The University of Central Florida will embark on a memorable Orlando Piano Concert, its 4th Annual International Piano Series with world renowned pianist, Daniel Pollack.

Known for his unique playing style, Pollack has captured audiences worldwide. He has performed piano concerts in major orchestras throughout the United States, including the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony, and San Francisco Symphony. He has also toured worldwide performing piano music songs in many countries including England, Russia, Norway, Hong Kong, Colombia, and Argentina.
He began his studies at the age of four, making his piano concert debut with the New York Philharmonic at the age of nine, performing the Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1.  He graduated from the Juilliard School, and continued graduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna. After his first major recognition when he won first prize in the International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow, he frequently performed all over the former Soviet Union and became the first American to record the Melodya label. One of his CD’s titled, “The Legendary Moscow Recitals” consists of his early recordings. Other international releases include Grammy-nominated CD for Naxos, with the works of Samuel Barber, and an all-Chopin recital recorded in St. Petersburg, Russia, released by Sony.

This Orlando piano concert with Daniel Pollack, will be held Saturday, September 13 at 8 p.m. in the Rehearsal Hall at the University of Central Florida. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children under 18, and free for University of Central Florida students with a valid student I.D. On Sunday, September 14, Pollack will also host a Master Class from 11am – 1pm for those who want to receive one-on-one sessions and expert advice on how to improve your own piano music playing. This will truly be a grand Orlando Piano Concert opening for the 4th Annual International Piano Series.
