European Union sponsors Gods Own Children's art exhibition of disadvantaged children in Jaffna

The European Union is pleased to support the disadvantaged children’s art exhibition in Jaffna which is held on occasion of International Children’s Day, which is celebrated on the 1st of October every year.

Sept. 6, 2008 - PRLog -- We hope the children enjoyed participating in the activities of the exhibition under the theme of the “Needs of Children and Adults in Jaffna“. We extend our best wishes for the exhibition to be held in Jaffna on 7th & 8th of September 2008. We look forward to seeing the creative exhibits of the children in Colombo on 30th September & 1st October 2008.  

We have been active in Sri Lanka for over 30 years. We give substantial development aid to Sri Lanka. Since 1990, we have provided more than 330 million euros or 52 billion rupees to Sri Lanka for rehabilitation, development and economic co-operation activities and over 100 million euro or 16 billion rupees for post-tsunami reconstruction, general development and conflict prevention activities. In addition to our other projects in the north we are extremely pleased to sponsor this children’s program in Jaffna.

We thank you for participating in this Children’s Day exhibition and take this opportunity in congratulating all of you in your efforts.

We would also like to thank the Gods Own Children Foundation for organizing this event in Jaffna on the 7th & 8th of September, and in Colombo at the end of the month.
