Sept. 3, 2008 - PRLog -- Kristan Cunningham is an interior designer who’s regularly featured on The Rachael Ray Show and is the host of HGTV’s  hit show, Design on a Dime. Because she is known for bringing affordable trends and inspiration to her viewers — as well as using color in her work— CertaPro Painters has partnered with Kristan to choose the hottest interior paint colors of this fall.

1.AUBERGINE- If you're looking to add some zip to an earthy palette in the fall season without going overboard, this is the perfect shade to warm up your family room. Instead of red, which can be a little punchy, Aubergine gives you a not so neutral look, while maintaining a sophisticated depth. A great example of the color is Mesmerize (SW6544). It’s a perfect color for the family room as it’s rich enough to get an effect and dark enough to hide wear and tear.

2.NAVY- It doesn't get any more timeless than navy- in fashion and in home decor. While summer pairs it with crisp white, fall begs for it to be partnered with yummy gray wools and lots of dark wood. These combinations create comfort in a cozy bedroom. Sherwin William's Naval (SW6244) is a perfect example of this iconic color.

3. CHARCOAL-Charcoal, like Software (SW7074), has proven to have legs as an all around great neutral. It's a terrific way to get the weight that black can provide, while still acting as a color. Plus it's got that great fuzzy depth to it. Use it on an accent wall to add a modern twist to a room, or on all four walls for a cool calming effect.

4. I can't think of a single color that excites me the way peacock blue does, and fall is the perfect season for it to strut it's stuff! Pair a perfect peacock like Biscay (SW 6940) with charcoal and ochre for a color scheme with sophisticated personality. These tones work great in a kitchen where people shouldn’t be afraid to use color with personality.

5. OCHRE-While lemon and canary yellows can overwhelm and sometimes flatten the look of a room, the caramel undertones of a good ochre create a warmth that
candlelight and cognac wish they could! I like Anjou Pear (SW6381) as flattering ochre to warm up the foyer and welcome guests in.

6. If you need to make your summer white and creams instantly feel a little cozier, add some moss green to the mix. Green is great to use in the bathroom to add a natural and serene element. The look is earthy and deep, but still fresh- the best of both worlds! Edamame (SW7729) is great for this look.
