Green Farm Can Produce 15 Million Gallons Of Biodiesel Per Year With No Carbon Footprint

FBI Farms is located in Desert Center, California and can produce 15,000,000 gallons of biodiesel per year with virtually no carbon footprint to speak of.

Sept. 3, 2008 - PRLog -- Desert Center, CA – Farming biodiesel Inc. is a new company taking advantage of what most Southern California residents thought was a useless open desert area. They have been able to start a farm that is 100% green, by using biodiesel and solar energy. “Right now we have 300 acres of farmland that is totally off the grid, running on biodiesel and solar power alone” says Michael Reardon, farming director / vice president of FBI Farms. “Future goals include the installation of 20,000 square feet of solar panels.” Apart from the solar panels, they plan to use wind power, 7 windmills will help generate any extra electricity that their farm may require. Once all goals are met, this green farm will be able to produce a minimum of 15,000,000 gallons of renewable biodiesel each year, biodiesel that can be sold to the average American commuter for about $3.50 a gallon.

All mechanized farm equipment is run on biodiesel, helping to reduce the size of their carbon footprint. Thanks to accounts with food chains such as KFC and El Pollo Loco, Farming Biodiesel Inc. is able to collect used cooking oil that they refine into green burning B-100 biodiesel. “We are being green in three ways, we utilize solar, wind and biodiesel. The energy is produced with virtually no carbon foot print which gives us an enormous savings on operating a farm of this size.” states Kelly Reardon, president of Farming Biodiesel. By using good water and land conservation, along with a ratio of only one animal per planted acre of farmland they reduce the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere.

FBI Farms gives everyone the opportunity to see how a green farm can be set up and operated. “The oil crises that the United States is currently facing is unacceptable.” says Christian Barrios, marketing director / secretary of FBI Farms. ”We want to show the American public how to reduce the dependency of the foreign oil supplies.”
