Aug. 28, 2008 - PRLog -- BartonPartners Architects Planners Inc. announced today that Thomas C. Barton, III AIA and Jeremy Greene, AIA have been invited to speak at the upcoming 21st Century Building Expo and Conference, to be held September 11-12, 2008 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC by the North Carolina Home Builders Association.

Barton will present two seminars for the North Carolina Home Builders Association. Barton’s presentation “Building a Boomer Friendly Home” on September 11 at 2:00pm will provide insight into the planning and design considerations attracting today’s “50+” buyers, and “From Bypassed to Boutique: Special Solutions for Challenging Sites” on September 12 at 10:00am will highlight ways to see the unique aspects of difficult sites as opportunities rather then obstacles.

Greene’s presentation, “Urban Infill: Myths and Misconceptions,” on September 12 at 2:00pm will separate myths from facts about urban (and suburban) redevelopment. Through case studies and other examples, Greene will discuss ways to lower risks and increase chances for gaining big profits through redevelopment.

For over 30 years, Thomas Barton has been actively providing architecture and planning services to the development industry. As a principal of BartonPartners, he defines the development program and conceptual framework for the planning and architectural response to the client's site and market. His diverse experience includes mixed-use and residential architecture, ranging from transit-oriented, mixed-use urban infill to community clubhouses, multi-family to large redevelopment projects.

Jeremy Greene, AIA has over twelve years of experience in the field of architecture. He has been with BartonPartners since 1998 and became a principal in 2006 after seven years of service with the firm. As a principal, he is charged with the responsibility of the overall management of projects from conceptual planning through completion, including regulatory approvals, bid negotiation, value engineering, and construction administration. He specializes in multi-family and mixed use design and construction.
