Aug. 24, 2008 - PRLog -- CorFun, a leader provider of Web design and eServices, is pleased to announce the go-live of its latest eCommerce site for New Hope Oils (www.newhopeoils.net). New Hope is a Brunswick, Ga. based manufacturer and seller of Christian anointing oils using unique blends of traditional ingredients Frankincense and Myrrh.
“This was a great project for us,” said Glen Chancy, CIO of Corfun, “Because of the needs of the customer, we got to really exploit cutting-edge innovations. The customer wanted to process transactions in an integrated fashion with Quickbooks Merchant Services. The shopping cart native to Joomla, Virtuemart, has integration for Quickbooks as of the new release. We were one of the first developers to put a site into production with this new capability.”
New Hope’s site was built using Joomla 1.5 and Virtuemart 1.1, both of which are the latest releases of two very successful development platforms. The new site replaces an older, static HTML site, which did not have shopping cart functionality.
“We expect this to be a big area for us,” Glen continued, “Virtuemart is an Open Source application which we set up and configure for clients. Best of all, they never have to pay maintenance on it after installation and configuration. That is the beauty of Open Source, they can run it forever without paying any additional fees. Plus we train our clients on how to manage their own stores. That value combined with integration to one of the most commonly used business accounting packages leads us to see this as one of CorFun’s main market opportunities.”
“I am extremely happy with the way my website turned out,” Liz Rebstock, owner of New Hope Oils, said. “I was involved in every step of the design process and learned how to run my online store myself as it was created. The new user-friendly site is a positive feature to draw customers for my products, and the flexibility of being able to keep my site updated myself will save me time and increase my sales potential online.”
About New Hope Oil
Since Biblical times anointing oils have been used to anoint the sick, the suffering, those chosen for office by God, and for a host of other reasons. New Hope first began making anointing oil in 1977. New Hope formulates anointing oil scented with frankincense and myrrh. Frankincense symbolizes Jesus’ holiness and myrrh is symbolic of the suffering He would endure while on earth. Olive oil is used as the base for the anointing oil symbolizing the Holy Spirit, salvation, and grace. Each formula sold is the result of painstaking research into biblical fragrances and spices. While many biblical ingredients have been lost over the centuries, many others are still available and are still being gathered in methods similar to biblical times.
