Aug. 22, 2008 - PRLog -- Former film student Andrew Cargill, 21, and graphic design graduate Dan Lewis, 23, are behind iGotMunchies - a website which aims to hone the hunger of Britain’s students.

Users will be able to compare graphical menus from take away restaurants across the country, as well as online maps and the ability to order online.

The team, who both live in Newport, South Wales, are currently scouring Britain’s student unions and food outlets to get them signed up before September.

They have already won a substantial investment from a silent partner, and hope to turnover a £1 million in their first year.

Mr Cargill, who was previously president of the University of Wales, Newport’s student union, said he first got the idea four years ago.

“In my first year of uni I couldn’t find my take away menus,” he said. “I thought why not just scan them in and put them on the web?”

It is hoped 20 per cent of the British student population will eventually use iGotMunchies. The team are aiming to notch 460,000 hits a week.

Mr Cargill says so far the feedback has been “incredible”, adding: “It’s taking a lot of travelling and a lot of leg work.”

Colleague Mr Lewis, who also runs a graphic design firm with Mr Cargill, said they’re hoping to get the site up and running fully within the next six weeks.
