Aug. 8, 2008 - PRLog -- It’s the return trip, parents should worry about…
studies show teenagers who drive to school are at much more risk after the bell rings, on the drive home.

Back to school means more distractions and more risk for the teenage driver.

Teenagers are headed back to school but it is the return trip that may be the most dangerous.

Facts provided by The Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention,
National Center for Injury Prevention and Control show that 3 pm to Midnight is the most dangerous time for a teenager to be on the road. Those 9 hours may be the deadliest.

“This is a great time to be on alert since going back to school creates a lot of new distractions for the teen driver”, says Paul Greenway, director, writer and producer of www.teenlivedrive.com.
“The more safety conscious teenagers and parents are, the better.”

The CDC fact sheets also show that the presence of teen passengers increases the crash risk of teen drivers without supervision,
and the crash risk is particularly high during the first year that teenagers become eligible to drive.

www.teenlivedrive.com allows teenagers to watch real life driving situations on real roads while listening to a professional driving instructor talk about the traffic and approaching situations.
Teenagers may download video files that play on iPods, iPhones, iTunes, in QuickTime on desktops, laptops and order DVDs.

“Most schools don’t teach behind the wheel anymore, says Jim Grimm, driving instructor and coach at Reagan High School in Austin, Texas. “I think an in-the-car instructor is best, still an in-the-car instructor online is great, since many kids wind up tuning out a parent.”
