Aug. 3, 2008 - PRLog -- Bicester, UK - Bicester based band Modern Clichés and clothing & merchandising brand Indie Scene announce endorsement deal as both parties look to launch a bright future.

This arrangement consolidates successful collaborations between the two parties in the past, with the band’s official endorsement of the Indie Scene brand that will be appearing on a developing range of products for men, women and children. The deal celebrates both the launch of Indie Scene’s new website, which went live on the 4th July 2008 (Indie-pendence Day!) and the signing to Crash Records of the Indie band who will be releasing their debut-download three track EP via Universal Digital on Monday 15 September, "Falseness & Fairytales".

The parties have supported each other’s projects since 2006 when Indie Scene founder, Ian Hornby, approached Modern Clichés with a sponsorship deal for the band to wear T-shirts sporting his trade-marked logo whilst on stage; this got off to a pulsating start as the band played two sparky sets at the prestigious and world famous Reading festival.

Early 2007 saw the launch of an exciting new range of Modern Clichés T-shirts in support of the band’s earliest ventures into live and recorded music. The synergy that developed became a means of encouragement to both parties and Indie Scene was very proud with the part it played in introducing the band to TV celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.  The star chef, who often comes up with brilliant initiatives to help others, organised a competition for unsigned bands - Modern Clichés polled 200,000 winning votes for their song Sharp Suits & Dirty Handshakes! Subsequently the band and Indie Scene enjoyed a fantastic day with Jamie Oliver, on set for filming of a podcast which culminated with Modern Clichés playing a live performance of their song whilst the cameras rolled. The excellent performance featured on Jamie Oliver’s BBQ Special podcast, going out over the internet to a global audience…..

“Indie Scene is inspired by those people whom we admire; they’re determined, independent and talented. However, importantly, they retain a sense of fun and are laid-back with it – Modern Clichés to a Tee” says Hornby.

Nic Brennan, Manager of Modern Clichés comments;  “Modern Clichés are so pleased to be working in partnership with Indie Scene and its Directors Ian & Caryn Hornby; their support & encouragement has been fantastic and for Modern Clichés to have been a contributory influence to the emergence of Indie Scene clothing is a total pleasure! Indie Scene demonstrate so clearly that ‘where’s there’s a will there’s a way’ and it’s OK to be laid-back about it!”
