Launch Internet-Based Video Gardening Series

Initial video segment “Pruning Tomatoes” launches with enthusiastic response.

Winslow, ME – July 21, 2008 – Johnny’s Selected Seeds, purveyor of superior quality seeds, and Natick, MA based GrowingWisdom.com, a website that produces weekly home and garden video content for the gardening enthusiast, announced the launching of a new internet-based video series for home gardeners.

Filming for the first four video segments completed this past June with topics including “Pruning Tomatoes,” “Harvesting Lettuce,” “Transplanting Seedlings,” and “Transplanting from Containers.” The videos will be launched via the GrowingWisdom.com website and a network of video sites including 5min.com, youTube.com, and iTunes.com.

“Gardening and home improvement programming has become incredibly popular over the past few years, and the Web is an ideal mechanism for distributing it,” said Lou Zambello, Director of Sales and Marketing, Johnny’s Selected Seeds. “We are excited to work with Growing Wisdom’s high-quality videos to help our customers learn more about the products they can buy here at Johnny’s.”

Dave Epstein, New England meteorologist, horticulturist, and founder of GrowingWisdom.com, said, “Johnny’s Selected Seeds has an extensive wealth of knowledge and varieties of product that will allow us to create an exciting series of video for home gardeners of all levels.”

The first video, “Pruning Tomatoes,” launched last week with the highest video debut “hit rate” in GrowingWisdom’s history. Plans for the second series of video from the Johnny’s Seeds and GrowingWisdom.com partnership are already under way with an early fall production schedule.
