July 25, 2008 - PRLog -- Music with a conscience! Bridget Brigitte's Music Garden of Songwriters brings together a group of stellar performers in support of non-profit causes Women's International Center and San Diego Food Bank. Bridget Brigitte, Cynthia Hammond, Steven Ybarra, Lindsey Yung, and Candice Graham perform from 7:30-10pm in San Diego's spectacular dinner and music club - Anthology - the sparkling new gem of hip Little Italy. $14 cover (& $15 food/beverage minimum) on Tuesday Aug 19 at 1337 India Street, San Diego, CA 92101 619- 595-0300 (doors open at 5:30, reservations recommended). http://www.bridgetmusic.com  http://www.anthologysd.com

"Plant Music and Watch the Garden Grow" is Bridget's motto surrounding her Music Garden Series. A fierce defender of original songwriting (and current President of the San DIego Songwriter's Guild), she claims that "Every hit was a new song once." Facing a music industry that is often a steep climb for original songwriters, she has tailor made a creative series for songwriters that is artist-friendly and seeks to reflect the diverse international communities we come from. Having been on stages around the world herself, and having introduced more than 200 performers to prestigious local stages including her own music series at Humphrey's Music Club, she is thrilled to debut her Music Garden at Anthology, under the superb talent direction of Michael Pritchard who has brought many of the world's finest names in music to San Diego.

On August 19, Anthology's stage will sparkle with the musical creations of five remarkable singer/songwriters: Bridget Brigitte, Cynthia Hammond, Steven Ybarra, Lindsey Yung, and Candice Graham. More information about each artist can be found on their websites and many are releasing new CD's: Bridget jest recently released her first 10 song music-video DVD featuring her signature poetic and ethereal songs and videography by filmmaker Jean-Pierre Prieur; Cynthia (of Jazz 88) will share her legendary voice that has graced jazz classics on many celebrated stages; acclaimed songwriter Steven shares touching guitar songs from his new release "Love, Love, Love"; enchanting songstress Lindsey performs her moving songs on piano; Candice and her band will spice up the night with lively tunes from "Rockin' the Country." Each artist plays a half hour set in support of original songwriting and two local non-profit organizations: The Women's International Center and The San Diego Food Bank. WIC - Honoring, Encouraging, and Educating Women from Around the World - celebrates its 25th Anniversary on October 11 at USD's Institute for Peace and Justice (wic.org). The San Diego Food Bank provides food to people in need, advocating for the hungry and educating the public about hunger-related issues (sandiegofoodbank.org). Guests are invited to bring canned food donations (meats, vegetables, fruits encouraged). A receptacle will be available at Anthology on Aug 19 for canned food donations.

Whether you are a regular on the musical scene in San Diego or haven't seen a show recently, Bridget's Music Garden should number among your top entertainment choices. The owners of Anthology can often be found among the glitterati attending and the menu offerings are delicious from crab salads to chocolate custards. Anthology was voted "Best Live Music Venue and Restaurant 2008" and with recent performers including Ricki Lee Jones, Wynton Marsalis, and Rita Coolidge - and now Bridget's Music Garden - we understand why!
