Andrew Woolley, senior partner of Woolley & Co, had the original version of Surviving Family Conflict and Divorce put together last year to answer the most common questions around divorce and relationship breakdown.

Demand for the book has far outstripped expectation and a second, updated edition of the plain English guide has now been published to help struggling couples pick their way as smoothly as possible through the divorce process.

Prenuptial agreements, how to make a separation legal, sorting finances – including pension assets – step-parents, grandparents’ rights and divorce options for ex-pats are all  discussed in the book.

There were 141,750 divorces in 2005, compared with 153,399 in 2004.
