Detroit Rising Star Athlete, Mike Martin, Soars Under the Radar

July 21, 2008 - PRLog -- DETROIT – Standing at 6-foot-7-inches with a wingspan over 7-feet, Mike Martin is hardly ever under anything, except when it comes to the basketball rim.  He is known for his swift moves, outstanding defense and great instincts on the court, while aiming to win national attention to become the next star to take over the world of basketball.

According to area coaches, Martin has excelled over the past year and throughout summer tournaments as an outstanding defensive player.  With his natural flair for the game, he has been compared to top players such as Tayshaun Prince, Ben Wallace and Scottie Pippen. When on the court, Martin’s main goal is not just to score, but to affect the game with his mere presence.  With eye-catching defensive skills and quick moves that allow him to guard all positions on the court, Martin is vastly versatile and an all around valuable player on any team.  

Even though a star on the court, Martin’s humble and quiet personality has kept him out of the spotlight and under the radar. He doesn’t seek the limelight and displays such a calm personality that it occasionally steers attention from him towards someone with more demanding and aggressive characteristics. But even with his shy demeanor and subtle stance, coaches can’t deny his star-like qualities and athletic abilities, and are stunned when this quiet teenager suddenly arouses the crowd with his blaring performance.

In the fall of 2008, Martin will eagerly begin his senior year at West Bloomfield High, and looks forward to perfecting his game, which is expected to average a triple double this coming season.  He plans to continue to flourish and sharpen his skills in hopes of surfacing from under the radar and into the realm of eminence, where he belongs.  Mike Martin is One to Watch.
