July 15, 2008 - PRLog -- The Dubai-based facilities management firm, Hitches & Glitches (H&G), one of the leaders in residential home maintenance and services sector, today said it has been growing at a rate of 50 per cent year-on-year since its inception in late 2005 buoyed by the boom in the growth of the free hold residential sector in Dubai.

H&G which has a highly visible presence in the freehold residential communities of New Dubai provides value added home maintenance services with guaranteed response time and has been able to carve a 10 per cent niche of the fast growing facilities management market.

Commenting on the company’s growth, Mr. Malay Shroff, Chief operating Officer, H&G, said: “Our growth at this speed is a salient reflection of the robust increase in the facilities management market in Dubai with residents realising the value of proper home maintenance in appreciating the value of the asset class they own.”

“It is also pertinent to note that the growth has come despite sharp inflationary pressure on the cost front for all FM companies in the market.  Our estimate is that there has been a cost escalation in the range of 20-60 per cent for facilities management companies, which has also in turn led to increased service fees,” he said.

H&G is the largest private sector company catering to the up-market areas such as the Emirates Hills, The Palm, Jumeirah Village, Meadows, Arabian Ranches and Al-Barsha.

Mr. Shroff said the growth of the facilities management market in Dubai is set to boom further as new residential and commercial property developments come online. “The growth possibilities for facilities management firms are immense if one looks at the estimates of creating close to 500,000 residential units in Dubai in the next few years. This will of course challenge facilities management companies to be more professional and offer sophisticated services with sharp customer-centric focus.”

He said the current facilities management of the UAE would be worth an estimated AED 10 billion, growing at the rate of 50 per cent annually.

H&G, which deploys sophisticated technology and trained and multi-skilled manpower to service its clients, has mobile service centres strategically positioned in the residential communities of New Dubai so that response time to a client call is accelerated by being in the proximity.

“The awareness and acceptance of facilities management as a service of important nature is catching up fast and is no more in its infancy. Investors in realty are now more sensitive to the proper upkeep of their asset since it will ensure better returns at the time of sale.  Residents are also finding it better to depend on a proper facilities management company with trust in the fragmented freelance service market depleting fast because of the shoddy services they provide,” Mr. Shroff said.

H&G’s services span home and building maintenance, cleaning and hygiene services, swimming and gardening services, energy management and facilities management consultancy. The company also has a home improvements division, Homeworks, which has been created to cater to client’s need for repair, refitting or refurbishing interior furniture.

“H&G’s endeavour is to be a total solutions provider in facilities management which can be accessed 24/7. Our call centre operates round the clock so that our clients are not left unattended at any time of day and night,” Mr. Shroff added.
