July 11, 2008 - PRLog -- CCN - Crown City News reports a dramatic increase in GPS thefts.  Pasadena Police Lt. Tom Pederson says, "Drivers should be cautious about leaving any type of valuable in a visible place in cars, but when it comes to portable GPS devices, drivers not only need to remove the suction cup that holds their GPS, they also need to wipe away the ring it leaves behind on the windshield."

Local business owner Raoul Pascual was recently robbed of his portable GPS System.  He came back to his vehicle to find the locks up and his navigation system gone.  "I felt violated," he says.  But, he says, he's also learned his lesson.  He says even though it will take extra time to put away the device when he gets a new one, and to clean up the suction cup rings, it'll be worthwhile when theives can't get their hands on the gadget.
