July 10, 2008 - PRLog -- New Castle, PA --- DISC is a term coined by William Moulton Marston in 1928.  He developed his own customized DISC after studying the energy of behavior and consciousness.  Marston believed that if he could measure such energies, he could help people to utilize these innate energies to improve their lives.  The energies that Marston discovered in all humans were Dominance, Influence, Submission, and Compliance.  Compliance later changed to conscientiousness.  Through measuring the amount of each type of energy present in every person he studied, he could help him or her augment, channel, and tone down certain energies as needed.
Marston did not develop the DISC Profile or Assessment Test, but a good friend of his, Dr. John Geier, did utilize Marston's research to develop the DISC Profile.  Since then, many corporations, churches, and psychologists have used different forms of the DISC Profile/DISC Assessment to help people.  The Institute for Motivational Living utilizes the principles developed by Marston to offer Customized DISC packages for training and motivational purposes.
