July 8, 2008 - PRLog -- Escondido – June 1, 2008 – One of the most popular musicals to come out of the American theater scene in the last half century, Meredith Willson’s ‘The Music Man’ will march into Kit Carson Amphitheater for ten performances July 18 – August 2.

With a cast of over 50 actors, a performing Barber Shop Quartet, over 20 dancers and baton twirlers, and a Marching Band, ‘The Music Man’ will have Kit Carson Park alive with TROUBLE this summer.

Jeremy Lapp directs the dynamic cast, with Amy Paige as choreographer and Dr. Lyle Stone as musical director.

‘The Music Man’ plays out the eternal battle of the sexes in the great, all-American, classic musical comedy. Into River City, Iowa comes handsome and roguish ladies' man, Harold Hill (Christopher T. Miller), with a grand scheme to con the town. Little does he know, he's met his match in the unfashionably smart and uncommonly beautiful town librarian, Marian Paroo (Amanda Kramer). Add to this the charming and hilarious antics of small town turn-of-the century life and you have Americana at its silliest and most heartwarming.
“We invite the entire community to watch this highly-anticipated production unfold,” said Jeremy Lapp. “Music Man offers heart-warming romance, hysterical comedy, and big, brassy Broadway at its best!”

Rounding out the cast is: Joey Minnich as Marcellus Washburn, Scott Farrell as Mayor Shinn, Jennifer Lloyd as Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn, Doug Shattuck as Charlie Cowell, Sarah Gates-Lozier as Mrs. Paroo, Chad Mulhall as Winthrop Paroo, Elizabeth Morse as Amaryllis, Kyle Williamson as Tommy Djilas, Brittany Kvalvik as Zaneeta Shinn, Meagan Pitcher as Gracie Shinn, Janelle Jorgensen as Ethel Tofflemier, Laura Tucker as Alma Hix, Rachael Anduze as Maud Dunlop, Adriane Matherne as Mrs. Squires, Sean Jagers as Conductor, and Richard Conklin as Constable Locke.

Tickets, priced at $17 for general admission, $12 for seniors and children, and $10 for groups of 20 or more, are available now by visiting the online box office at www.americanrosetheatre.com. Tickets for the general public also are available at the box office at Kit Carson Amphitheater on the day of the show.
