July 8, 2008 - PRLog -- The leading IT analyst firms are ranked in terms of their online influence in a new report 'Analyst Web Rankings' published by ATA Research. Gartner, took top place as the most influential analyst firm online but their position was under pressure from a growing number of smaller research firms that also showed strong online presence and influence amongst users.

The top rated individual analysts of the year were also ranked to demonstrate how web presence can lead to influence within the industry. Based on these results search analysis was then used to investigate the role of influencers online and provide key information and metrics on the IT advisory industry.

“The analyst industry has suffered from a lack of clear insight and this report provides the first metrics to understand the market. As we see fundamental changes taking place in the industry its important to keep up to date. For any professionals who work with analyst firms and need to understand the technology industry having this data is vital.”
Malcolm Ramsay – Research Director, ATA Research
