June 25, 2008 - PRLog -- 82% of Canadian parents are time-starved with laundry piling up, meals to prepare, and a myriad of other household obligations to juggle in with their busy life.

The Concierge Industry is here to help with an army of small home-based companies across Canada. There are an estimated thousand concierge and errand services able to assist clients with their daily domestic or corporate ‘to do’ lists. Most concierge services range between $35 and $50 per hour. Freeing up time to watch your son make his first soccer goal or go to your daughter’s piano recital is important. It is way too important than finishing mundane household chores. Our industry is really making an impact on our client’s lives. “We take the list of chores and let our busy professionals and families concentrate on what they really want to do.”  It is just the simple things in life that drive us crazy. The concierge industry is here to help!

There is a virtual army of help for time-starved Canadians assembled in Canada eager to assist. Mary Ann Westendorf and Amanda O’Reilly are co-founders of The Canadian Concierge Directory. “We have combined a rapidly growing Concierge Industry and internet advertising for a win-win alliance for concierge and errand service members and our diverse clientele,” quotes, Mary Ann Westendorf.  We hope the directory and virtual trade association will create more public awareness as well as unity and camaraderie within the industry. Generating an efficient referral network is priority.

Amanda O’Reilly sees many opportunities for our corporate clientele to offer concierge services as an Employee Benefit Program and wants to address the requirements of the growing corporate market across Canada.  The newly developed directory is an online database of personal concierge companies, errand services and personal assistants across Canada.  We are inviting the ‘concierge army’ to assemble in one directory to help the Canadian people!

With increased workloads and lengthened work hours and the fact that technology allows people to bring work home after hours are imposing a heavy load on the Canadian work force.  The over load is not only affecting men and women but is now a significant challenge because of the spill over effects on personal health and family life.  Linda Duxbury; Chris Higgins Canadian Policy Research Networks October 2001
