3xlogic Vcm Software Allows Centralized Management Of Digital Video Recorders

VCM allows centralized management of DVR fleets including User Access Control and Configuration, System Health Monitoring and Software Updates.

June 10, 2008 - PRLog -- 3xLogic, the manufacturer of the Vigil line of digital video products, announced today that its new VCM software provides an easy way for security or IT managers to maintain and configure thousands of DVR’s in an instant from the home office.

Field units are arranged in fleets allowing managers to selectively monitor, update and manage large groups of security devices including its line of DVR, NVR, Hybrid and IP Recording solutions from a centralized location.

“Any manager who has had to log into a hundred different systems simply to change the access rights of an employee who is leaving the company, can appreciate the power of VCM.”, says Michael Davis of 3xLogic. “Organizations that rely on their security being operational 24/7 will appreciate the ability to be notified of an imminent failure or issue with any of their DVR’s as well as the ability to push out software updates in an instant.”

The Access Rights & Configuration module of VCM allows complete management of each user including the cameras or video they can view and to what level they can access the system. Should an employee change job functions or leave the company, the users access rights can be instantly adapted to reflect their new role. In addition, the software provides the ability to push out scheduled changes to the configuration of each unit including recording rates, quality and notification methods.

The System Health Monitoring module provides intensive real-time monitoring and notifications of any issue that may affect the performance of the system including video loss, potential drive failure and days of recorded video as well as other critical issues.
The Software Update module allows instantaneous or scheduled updates to be managed from the central location with ease. Updates can be targeted to individual devices or entire fleets allowing a well managed roll-out process.

VCM is available through select dealers, integrators and distributors throughout North America and Europe. More information can be obtained by contacting 3xLogic directly or visiting their website at http://www.3xlogic.com.  The direct link to VCM is http://www.3xlogic.com/vcm
