Singer and Associates “Through my personal experiences and my observations with the American Cancer Society, I have seen what cigarette smoking has done,” said Singer. “I believe that every nickel that we take away from the tobacco companies puts us that much closer to putting them out of business.” The Engle settlement has put away $600 million for cigarette victims. Singer is representing smokers who have been diagnosed with a cigarette-related disease or medical condition on or before November 21, 1996. These victims or their surviving relatives are eligible to receive compensation from the Engle Trust Fund, a class action suit will reward compensation to Florida smokers, former smokers and survivors of smokers. Singer is inviting eligible smokers to call him at 1-800-ASK-FREE, so that they can register with the Fund by the deadline of June 16, 2008. Singer was recently unanimously voted as vice chair of the ACS board of directors. For the past two decades he has served on the ACS executive board, including a two-year term as unit president. This year is his 18th year as chair of the ACS annual “Jail and Bail” event, which has raised more than $1.5 million for the organization, which supports research, outreach, education to raise awareness and much more.
