Singer Signs National Distribution Deal

Neo-Soul Artist, Lyric'lee signs National Distribution Deal with Tate Music Group

June 7, 2008 - PRLog -- Chicago native and inspirational singer, Lyric'lee, signs national distribution deal with Tate Music Group, with hopes of joining the ranks of Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Indie Arie.

Born in south side Chicago, Lyric'lee grew up in a house of music, learning how to play the piano from the early age of 4. Lyric’lee received a scholarship to Michigan State University for Flute Performance to study with Richard Sherman, while there she played with the MSU Wind Symphony and assisted in individual student and professorial projects on her flute.

Being inspired by many great artists such as India Arie, Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill.....Lyric'lee decided to use her musical talents and make her first cd, "Journal Entries".

After months of looking for a distribution deal, her manager decide to send one of songs to a publishing corporation, Tate Enterprises and Publishing, LLC of Oklahoma City, OK. He was contacted within days from the President of Acquistions. Before he could tell Lyric'lee what was going on, a contract was sent to his door step.

The contract not only offers a national distribution deal, but also an investment (undisclosed amount) for the distribution and marketing of Lyric'lee's cd, "Journal Entries".

Could this be it for Lyric'lee? Will we be seeing her in newspapers, magazines? Will we hear her music on the radio?

Well, I can honestly say, after hearing "Journal Entries", I was quite impressed. I mean, for an independent artist to create, write, compose and sing her own songs........she is the next big thing. She can definitely compete with the major artists out there on the radio. Lyric'lee, take a bow !!! I would recommend this cd to any and everybody I know that loves Jill Scott, Indie Arie or Angie Stone.

The only question is, Can Tate Music Group pull off her marketing? Meaning a book publishing company venturing into the music industry....ummm?? This makes me ask myself a question: We know that TMG is successful with advertising and selling books, but can they market and sell a cd? You can not market and sell a cd like would market and sell a book.

However, I wish Lyric'lee the best of wishes with her distribution deal with Tate Music Group. And I hope she reaches the platform of a high caliber artist in the music industry. I really enjoyed "Journal Entries" and I recommend that you purchase a copy or download one of her songs at www.lyriclee.com.
