June 3, 2008 - PRLog -- Snowbound Software, a leading provider of powerful, flexible and reliable document viewing technology, announces the availability of Version 12 of its RasterMaster® Imaging and Conversion SDK for Java. This release expands Snowbound’s existing support for rendering Microsoft® Office files, including Word and Excel, and for rendering and writing PDF. RasterMaster V. 12 allows developers to build functionality into their applications that enable end users to render, annotate, and redact content from MS Office and PDF files without having to install the creator application.  

Snowbound’s RasterMaster Imaging and Conversion SDK’s automated document imaging functions enable developers to build important functionality and features into their applications such as document viewing, conversion, annotation and manipulation. RasterMaster V. 12 supports numerous documents and image formats across a variety of platforms.

Unique to RasterMaster, version  12 simplifies the saving of images to memory by providing a method that will return the saved image in a memory object. This method automatically calculates how much memory is needed . Through the user-friendly API, developers can easily enhance the applications they build with RasterMaster’s robust imaging capabilities to maximize productivity. Additional Version 12 enhancements include:

•   Greatly enhanced extraction features for TIFF documents resulting in faster viewing access

•   Ability to display PDF documents (including engineering drawings) in vector form, preserving image quality when zooming in to the document or drawing

•   Enhanced support for PCL file format, including support of color and grayscale ,provides truer view of original documents

•   Increased support for MO:DCA and AFP files formats improves decompression for multi-paged images and extends font support
