May 29, 2008 - PRLog -- High Criteria has unveiled the latest release of its market-leading software, Total Recorder Professional Edition (PE) V7.0. Anyone interested in recording streaming audio, wishing to record Internet telephone calls or any other sound passed through PC, will find Total Recorder a powerful, yet easy-to-use audio recording application.

"A cult favorite, Total Recorder impresses not only with its interface and list of features but with its precise ability to record and save any sounds coming across your PC....." - Troy Dreier, PC Magazine.

Total Recordersupports various sound formats (uncompressed wav PCM, WMA, MP3 and other popular audio formats), mixing the current recording with a file or the contents of the clipboard and other sound processing features. The program also supports playlists in M3U, PLS, and WPL format. A powerful scheduler is included that can start recording while your computer is in standby or hibernate mode and can also connect to your favorite radio station automatically. Total Recorder Version 7.0 is fully compatible with Windows Vista x32. In this update, a number of Direct Sound compatibility issues have been resolved including those that will allow the use of Total Recorder with Skype 3.x.

The Professional Edition V7.0 includes the following new features:

•   Ability to make a background recording (capturing) of Internet-broadcasts in MP3, WMA and Ogg Vorbis formats without using an external player, thus avoiding decoding and re-encoding.
•   Timeshifting lets you record an audio file and listen to it (from any position) while the file is being recorded. This feature is available for both ordinary recordings and when background recording Internet streams.
•   Support of CUE-sheet files. Now Total Recorder provides the functionality of creating CUE-points, which can be used for splitting a file afterwards. CUE-points can be created manually, for example to make a bookmark in a sound file, or automatically during recording session (based on pause reduction, changes of the clip information in an external player, etc.) or while capturing Internet transmissions when information about a track is changed (if such information is provided by server).
•   Many other enhancements.
