ACERO releases "En Pie de Guerra", new CD, video

Costa Rican heavy metal band presents first promotional video clip

May 28, 2008 - PRLog -- San Jose, Costa Rica-  For almost 25 years, Costa Rica's heavy metal community has heard from ACERO, as they were the pioneers in this genre.
However it was only six years ago that they managed to record and release their debut album "Pasado y Presente".

Now in 2008, with a new CD titled "En Pie de Guerra" metal followers have another thing to rejoice aside from the disc itself  -the band's first ever official video clip.

The promotional video for the first track of the album -"Heavy Metal"- was shot back in February at a deserted factory and shows the group and its members in a different perspective that their fans are accustomed to see them in which is playing live. Also noteworthy is the starring role of well-known local metalhead "Warlock" headbanging to this track dressed in black leather and studs.

The official release show will be held on May 31st at San Jose's Sand Live, a venue which typically hosts metal concerts. Playing live on stage will be local bands Argos and Agressor supporting ACERO which will headline and play material from both their releases right after the screening  -for the first time- of the video to the attending crowd.

About ACERO
The tiny Central American nation of Costa Rica doesn't usually come to mind as a producer of heavy metal bands, but Acero proves that metal lives even in this remote region. The band was formed in 1985 by Jorge Molina and Francisco Pujol. According to the bands official biography, Acero was the first original heavy metal band in Costa Rica.

In 2008 the band releases their new CD titled "En Pie de Guerra" and go back on the road to promote it.
