Dr. Jennifer Ashton to Open HYGEIA GYNECOLOGY In the Heart of Downtown Englewood.

Dr. Jennifer Ashton brings Hygeia Gynecology practice to Englewood, NJ.

May 22, 2008 - PRLog -- Dr. Jennifer Ashton will be moving her practice to the historic clock tower building at One Engle Street in the heart of Englewood this spring. She is building Hygeia Gynecology from the ground up, aiming for a state-of-the-art, ecologically conscious facility that still accommodates thoughtful, thorough, and comprehensive medical care.

Although Dr. Ashton can be seen roughly five times a week on the national Fox News Channel, she is devoted to the patients she sees in her practice and is thrilled to provide the new facilities. In addition to cutting-edge technology, Hygeia Gynecology will offer patients red-carpet medical care in a completely green environment. This includes a totally paperless office system, from medical records to e-fax to electronic prescription services.

However, the paperless medical records are only the beginning. “I believe good health starts with the way we take care of ourselves and our bodies, but it also means taking care of our communities and the environment.” Dr. Ashton is known as an active member of the Englewood Community and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors on the Community Chest charitable organization. She is a frequent public speaker on topics concerning women’s health and adolescent gynecology, but more recently she has been excited to discuss her new facility’s status as the first eco-friendly medical office to Bergen County.

Dr. Ashton has enlisted for the interiors the services of well-known New York City designer Henning Meisner, of Alveary Architecture. The offices will feature non-toxic paint, eco-friendly carpet, cork flooring, sustainable fabrics, and other environmentally friendly materials.  On top of appealing to ecological sensibilities, Dr. Ashton and Meisner wanted to give the office a fresh, young feel, at once refreshing and unique.

As an OB-GYN, Dr. Ashton enjoys the daily contact with women of all ages at various critical points in their lives. “An OB-GYN can deliver a baby, treat an adolescent with painful periods, a 50-year-old with hot flashes, and diagnostic cancer all in the same day. The field encompasses endocrinology, surgery, psychiatry, oncology, and infectious diseases all wrapped up in one specialty.” At Hygeia Gynecology, Dr. Ashton is confident she has a space that will embrace such a varied medical field in a way that is at once refreshing and refreshingly traditional.
