Gold Coast Media (Florida) launches the Butler Report.

The news site publishes US and worldwide news and reports not generally covered by the mainstream media. News from around the world is provided by links to international news sources. Site content is updated 24/7. BR’s goal is to become the leading world news summary website by mid-2009.

The media model is concept-based on the Über-successful Drudge Report (DR), also located in South Florida. The business model is amply proven as the aforementioned DR consistently demonstrates, with 12.5 million unique visitors a month along with 500 million pages views. That is where the similarities end however as the Butler Report is an expanded and comprehensive news site and includes six separate subject sections. Emphasizing core world, US and business issues the Butler Report is already carving out a growing niche for itself and gaining a loyal following.

Butler Report's unique style is evident in its use of newspaper-type hard-hitting headlines and a smattering of carefully selected images. Sections include Headlines, US News, Business (extensive), World News, Unusual, Special Reports and a cartoon of the day provided by the syndicated Irish cartoonist Aidan Dowling. The site takes pride in avoiding celebrity news.
