Kid Chef Calls for a Healthier America

Fitness Advocate Nathan Godsey Touts Unforgettable Food Adventures for Family Health

May 14, 2008 - PRLog -- New York, NY --- Most people know that Americans do not eat properly or get much exercise – nearly half the population, in fact, are unhealthy. But are they doing anything about it? One feisty eleven-year-old kid is. Nathan Godsey, chef and family fitness advocate, is coaching families on how to implement simple lifestyle changes that will result in a healthier, happier family life.
“Food and my family are the two most important things in my life,” says Godsey.“It’s so much fun to spend time with my brother and sister, mom and dad, and make them happy with simple food. And knowing that it’s good for us, too, and that we’re doing our best to be healthy, makes it taste even better!”
Nathan has always loved to cook, and through ingenuity, and a bit of luck, he has managed to travel the globe sharing his passion for food. At just, seven years of age, Nathan won the Food Network’s Cooking with Your Kids contest. His prize was a new car, private cooking lessons with his hero Emeril Lagasse, and a special appearance on Emeril Live, which led to Nathan hosting his own cooking show, Fun Food Adventures. Nathan has also appeared on popular radio and TV programs, such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Nathan’s experiences and world travel made Nathan realize there was a real need for healthy recipes and simple ways to alter unhealthy lifestyles. Today, as a family fitness advocate, Nathan’s goal is to steer families into lifestyle changes that will enable them to spend quality time together, while reinforcing positive habits related to food and exercise.
“”When families do stuff together, it’s fun,” says Godsey. “”Whether it’s eating new healthier foods and having kids help out in the kitchen, or going swimming at the YMCA, it’s always more fun when you do it together as a family”.”
Nathan is forming a team of nationally recognized experts and plans to make the world a tastier, healthier place. Over the summer, Nathan will put his advocacy efforts into high gear by travelling the country, doing cooking and exercise demonstrations and speaking to children and families about healthy lifestyle changes.
