May 13, 2008 - PRLog -- Today SkillWho.com officially launched an innovative new Web 2.0 networking site (see http://www.skillwho.com). The site enables members to share all their skills, talents, and trades such as home improvement, music, art, business, education, science, technical, etc. Visitors can also view the various skills and talents of their friends, friends of friends, or community.

The benefits to users include:

1. It makes it easier for people to find someone with a skill or trade that they can trust.

2. It provides an avenue for people with a skill or multiple skills to let others know about them.

3. It gives people with hobbies or passions a way to meet other like-minded people.

4. People can showcase their skills and talents.

5. Consumers can be entertained by viewing and rating videos, images, and mp3s of talented members (this feature is coming soon).

“I noticed that there was a void in the social networking sites between friends and professional networking,” says the company’s founder, Aaron McCammon. “LinkedIn, for example, doesn’t meet the needs of people with hobbies or passions outside of work. And Facebook, while it meets some of this need, isn’t focused on skills and talents, but keeping in touch with friends.”

“The site also provides a way for the most talented or skilled people to rise above the crowd through ratings and recommendations.” Says Paul Kitchen, the company’s cofounder. “It also enables people to have a map of the skills in their entire social network, helping them find someone they can trust for a skill or trade they are looking for.”
