May 8, 2008 - PRLog -- The National Study Group On Chronic Disorganization announces its Fall Conference, “Gateway to New Frontiers,” in St. Louis, Missouri on September 25-27, 2008. Over 125 professional organizers and related professionals will gather to hear experts discuss the latest trends in chronic disorganization.

Featured speaker, Dr. Gail Steketee, Professor and interim Dean at the Boston University School of Social Work, will present three sessions. Dr. Steketee has conducted many research studies, written 7 books and published over 160 articles on obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and panic and OC spectrum conditions. Her sessions are Compulsive Hoarding; Cognitive Strategies in the Treatment and Management of Hoarding and Chronic Disorganization; and Enhancing Motivation during the Organizing Process.

Other sessions include:
•   A “Whole” New Way Of Evaluating Success. Participants will learn new ways to evaluate a client's success by looking at internal markers such as self-concept development rather than outward signs of organization. Sari Solden, MS LMFT is a psychotherapist who has worked with AD/HD adults for 20 years. She is the author of Women with Attention Deficit Disorder and Journeys Through ADDulthood.
•   The Disorganized Mind: Coaching Your AD/HD Brain To Take Control of Your Time, Tasks, and Talents. Individuals with AD/HD can develop positive habits to replace negative, self-defeating behavior patterns by working with a coach.  Nancy Ratey, EdM, MCC, SCAC, a strategic life coach specializing in coaching professionals with AD/HD, has been featured in The New York Times, Newsday and Wired and Vogue, and has appeared on ABC, CBS and NPR. Her latest book, The Disorganized Mind, was published in April 2008.
•   Case Studies Workshop. Participants will work in small groups and explore CD client scenarios in collaborative discussions and brainstorm strategies. Workshop facilitator, Denslow Brown, CPO-CD®, CPO®, MCC, has been a professional organizer since 1974 and a coach for the last decade. She is a NSGCD Master Trainer and mentor coach for NSGCD’s Level IV Program Coaches.
•   Gateway to New Frontiers: Personal Journeys, Insights and Q&A with Pioneering Women. This will be a panel discussion with Dr. Steketee, Ms. Solden and Ms. Ratey, facilitated by Ms. Brown.
