New Entertainment Sites Launched – A “MySpace” for the Film and TV Production Community!

Boston – Massachusetts - Entertainment and Corporate Attorney Douglas Kirkpatrick announced today the launch of new Entertainment web-sites called “MassachusettsFilmTaxCredit.com” and “OurFilmSpace.com”.

April 30, 2008 - PRLog -- MassachusettsFilmTaxCredit.com is dedicated to serving the film and television production community seeking to take advantage of the Massachusetts Film Tax Credit.  The Motion Picture Tax Incentives in Massachusetts are some of the most favorable in the country.  Productions can receive as much as 25% of payroll and production expenses, no sales tax on items purchased for the production, and free locations for state owned property.   The Film Tax Credit has spawned a production boom in the Commonwealth.   A long list of film projects that are shooting in Massachusetts are featured on the new Site, as well as information about the incentives, and helpful links.

A sister Site – “OurFilmSpace.com” has also launched as an online “Social Community Network,” where members can join for free, create their own personal and individualized profile page, upload information about what they do, including photos, videos, music, and even have their own personal Blog.  Members can network with people and companies in the production community and entertainment business.  “It is a kind of MySpace for film, tv, and video persons and companies,” said Attorney Doug Kirkpatrick.  The Site intends to appeal to all cross sections of the production community, as well as those interested in breaking into the business.  “OurFilmSpace.com will be a gathering place for information about the production community in Massachusetts and beyond – where our members can network, showcase their talents, gifts, and skills, share ideas, communicate, and work together to seize the opportunities here in Massachusetts and elsewhere,” Kirkpatrick said.   “The Site is also for persons or companies looking to gain a foothold in Massachusetts from outside the Commonwealth,” Kirkpatrick added.  There is a high level of interest outside the state about what is going on in Massachusetts, and networking with the community here,” he said.

MassachusettsFilmTaxCredit.com references a recent report of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue which indicates that almost $400 mil has been projected in production spending in Massachusetts in the first quarter of 2008 alone.
