When Tony and Herta Peju founded Peju 25 years ago, the couple incorporated their passion for wine, art, architecture and horticulture into the structure, style and hospitality at Peju’s Rutherford Estate. The family has committed to surrounding guests with an inventive and artistic experience from the wine glass, to the tasting room, to the gardens.

“We’re extremely pleased to host these talented artists and share their fascinating minds and beautiful portrayals of people and places with our visitors,” Tony Peju said about the ongoing art exhibit. “There is art in everything, including the winemaking, sculpting and gardening at Peju.”

Guests are invited to explore the Peju Art Exhibit at their leisure during the tasting room hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The notable paintings, sculptures and photographs are all available for purchase.

About the Artists:

Susan Tibbon – Fine Artist
Introduced to oil painting at the age of I5 by her father, Tibbon has continued to expand the scope of her work to include paintings on silk, egg shells and other natural objects, in addition to wood and canvas. Tibbon also works in monoprint and etching. Her work conveys familiar flora, fauna and inanimate objects through a refinement of imagery rather than mere alteration. Tibbon’s work extends beyond the subconscious province of surrealism and approaches the visionary. Born in New York City, Tibbon grew up in San Francisco and still resides in the Bay Area where her work is represented by The Collectors Gallery at The Oakland Museum and Atelier Posey et Susan in San Francisco. The Studio, located at 2720 I6th San Francisco, is open to the public on Saturdays from 12-5 p.m.

Arlene Stornetta – Fine Artist
Stornetta is an accomplished artist with roots deeply imbedded in both Napa and Sonoma Valleys. The surrounding vineyards and farmlands have greatly influenced Stornetta’s vision and artwork. Their magical landscapes have been captured in many of her colorful pieces. Ten years of experience as a floral designer has also contributed to her colorful and creative portfolio. A theme that is apparent in most of her pieces is her use of bright, vivid colors. Her intense use of color expresses a certain feeling and emotion that makes each of her paintings come to life with its own distinct personality.

Lee Lawson – Fine Artist
Lawson’s gifts as an artist are evident not only in her superb technical skills, nor only in the ethereal palette she creates for her work. Even more so, her gifts derive from an ability that is older than time — the ability to envision. She has clear memory of things that dance, hide, misbehave, dream, sleep, appear and disappear in the human psyche. Lawson's work clearly reflects those oceans that surge and thrive beneath our mundane consciousness. Her work, most richly viewed as both outer and inner seeing, testifies to the fact that she is a rare artist especially skilled in bringing to the surface mysterious yet clearly stated first person accounts of the deep imaginable world.
