Flores (21-0-1) supported Celebrity Fight Night 2008 a fundraiser for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center to fight against Parkinson's. John Mellencamp, Dionne Warwick, Jordan Sparks and Sinbad entertained guests. Kevin Costner, Clive Davis, Reba McEntire and LaDainian Tomlinson were honored and live auction items raised funds. B. J. Flores became a missionary in Mexico for two years living in one of the poorest areas and helped build houses and help the less fortunate. Flores trained where Julio Caesar Chavez trained as a child in Culiacan. After watching Flores hand out numerous beatings in sparring sessions, the locals began calling him "Peligroso" meaning "dangerous". BJ OUTSIDE THE RING BJ Loves to travel to different countries, meet new friends, and learn about new people and cultures. BJ often visits hospitals and charity organizations when traveling. BJ enjoys commentating for various sporting events in both Spanish and English and is will pursue a career in professional Sports Broadcasting. Many were able to witness his “breakout “performance on ESPN in studio with Brian Kenny and it is agreed upon by all he will definitely have a career in TV when his fighting days are over. Hobbies outside of boxing: BJ enjoys teaching boxing to young kids. BJ is also involved in various charities and is frequently a motivational speaker at various High Schools and Junior Highs. BJ also loves to play with his nieces and nephews. Favorite sports outside of boxing: Golf is BJ’s favorite sport to play. Apparently the golf game is getting better, down to around 10-handicap. BJ GIVES BACK BJ FINDS TIME TO GIVE BACK TO CHARITIES AND COMMUNITIES. BJ participated with members of the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants and the New York Jets football teams at the 2008 Sports Challenge benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Later that day, he headed to Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey where he was ringside to support former Main Events promoted teammate Kermit Cintron as he defended his IBF welterweight world title against Antonio Margarito broadcast live on HBO.
